Tux Fitness Week 2 – The Journey Continues

The first full week of my Tux Fitness program, since I started towards the end of the week last week.

It was pretty similar to the workouts in Week 1, except I went to Planet Fitness twice – which was great.

Another note, I also bought some wireless earbuds which are extremely helpful when working out. I bought these:

So far I really like them and they actually stay in my ears.

Tux Fitness Days 4-10

Day 4 – Monday

OFF – nothing too exciting here.

Day 5 – Tuesday

I did a similar workout today as I did in Week 1:

  • 12 push-ups
  • 24 dumbbell shoulder presses (12 lbs dumbbells)
  • 20 dumbbell shoulder presses (12 lbs dumbbells)
  • 16 dumbbell shoulder presses (12 lbs dumbbells)
  • 10 push-ups
  • 26 bent-over dumbbell raises (12 lbs dumbbells)
  • 22 bent-over dumbbell raises (12 lbs dumbbells)
  • 18 bent-over dumbbell raises (12 lbs dumbbells)
  • 8 push-ups
  • 14 bicep curls (12 lbs dumbbells)
  • 12 bicep curls (12 lbs dumbbells)
  • 10 bicep curls (12 lbs dumbbells)

I was a little sore later in the day…I should have drank more water. But by Day 6 morning, I felt better and could go to the gym.

Day 6 – Wednesday

My first day at the gym in over a year!

I went to Planet Fitness at about 5am this morning and had a good 20 minute workout that felt really good. Yes, that was super early, but I also dislike crowds at the gym…I don’t want to have to wait for equipment.

I did fairly light weights and drank a lot of water as I exercised so I wouldn’t hurt myself. Since my body is still not used to lifting heavy weights yet.

  • Lat Pull Downs – 4 sets of 75 lbs
  • Machine Rows – 4 sets of 75 lbs
  • Fly Machine – 4 sets of 75 lbs
  • Walking and running – 3/4 of a mile

As you can tell, very light weights and not too many exercises to where it would hurt my body.

During the workout, I drank about 32 ounces of water and stretched a lot. Post-workout (after my shower), I made another Syntha-6 Chocolate Milkshake protein shake with milk and a scoop of peanut butter. Very tasty.

Day 7 – Thursday

Another home workout today, wanted to workout, but again, didn’t want to overdo it.

  • 12 push-ups
  • 24 dumbbell shoulder presses (12 lbs dumbbells)
  • 20 dumbbell shoulder presses (12 lbs dumbbells)
  • 16 dumbbell shoulder presses (12 lbs dumbbells)
  • 10 push-ups
  • 26 bent-over dumbbell raises (12 lbs dumbbells)
  • 22 bent-over dumbbell raises (12 lbs dumbbells)
  • 18 bent-over dumbbell raises (12 lbs dumbbells)
  • 8 push-ups
  • 14 bicep curls (12 lbs dumbbells)
  • 12 bicep curls (12 lbs dumbbells)
  • 10 bicep curls (12 lbs dumbbells)

Lots of stretching today, but still don’t have enough water when I workout at home. I need to fix that.

Day 8 – Friday

OFF. Needed a good day of rest after three days of working out in a row.

Day 9 – Saturday

Planet Fitness.

  • Lat Pull Downs – 4 sets of 75 lbs
  • Machine Rows – 4 sets of 75 lbs
  • Tricep Pull Downs – 3 sets of 35 lbs, 1 set of 25 lbs
  • Fly Machine – 4 sets of 85 lbs
  • Stair Master – 25 steps…it was rough
  • Walking and running – 1.25 miles

Again, stretched before and drank 32 ounces of water during my workout…especially during the cardio…I hate cardio.

I added more workouts to my gym routine today than from Day 6.

Nutrition:

  • POST-WORKOUT: Syntha-6 Chocolate Milkshake Protein shake with milk and a scoop of peanut butter

Day 10 – Sunday

OFF – not gonna lie, a little sore today. Had some more water, but not as much as I should have.

Not too much different…except I look more away in the current picture. But it has only been a week.

But you have to keep working at it, you can’t just give up after a week or 2 or 3 or 4…
